Hey friend, I’m Ashley—but you can call me your business big sis. My story? It all started way back in second grade when I began my first venture selling erasers and pencils to classmates (yes, I was that kid). I’ve always known I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but the path to get here was anything but straightforward.

Entrepreneurship has always been in my DNA. I’ve always had the entrepreneurial bug—selling erasers and pencils in second grade, handmaking t-shirts and headbands for my cheer team in sixth grade, and researching business administration in seventh grade like my future depended on it (because it did). By the time I hit high school, I was already knee-deep in makeup tutorials and booking my first wedding for bridal makeup.

FROM SECOND GRADE ENTREPRENEUR TO 3X FOUNDER & MENTOR

After graduating high school, I followed the path I thought I was supposed to take—enrolling in esthetician school and building a career in the beauty industry. By industry standards, I was thriving—fully booked, operating a successful spa, and growing a huge online presence.

But something still felt off. I realized I was living up to an idea of success that wasn’t truly mine. I was chasing a dream that didn’t align with what I actually wanted for my life. While I loved the beauty industry and the amazing women I got to work with, I knew deep down that I was meant for more.

So, I took a chance and pivoted. I closed my spa, let go of the business I thought I should have, and leaned into the one that felt right. That’s when Ashley Tapia Co. as you know it was born—a business focused on helping other women build their dreams, instead of chasing someone else’s. I wanted to create an education company that serves ambitious women, giving them the support, strategies, and community I wished I had when I was scaling.

    If it doesn’t light you up, why are you doing it? I’m a firm believer that you can build a wildly successful business withoutsacrificing your sanity, health, or happiness. (PSA: If anyone tells you otherwise, they’re not your people.)

  • Quality time matters- with clients & loved ones.

    Whether it’s a coaching session or Sunday brunch, I’m all about being present and showing up fully for my people. If we’re working together, you’re getting all of me. If it’s brunch, I’m also there (because priorities).

  • Gods way is best.

    The biggest shifts in my life and business happened when I handed over the reins and made God my CEO. Now, every decision, every direction, every leap of faith? They all go through Him first. It’s like having the ultimate advisor guiding me—no second-guessing, no overthinking. Because when God’s in charge, fear doesn’t get to steer the ship—faith does.

  • Boundaries are sexy.

    Yep, I said it. Whether it’s setting expectations with clients or reminding your aunt (again) that you’re not available for surprise drop-bys, boundaries aren’t just necessary—they’re non-negotiable. The right people (and maybe even your aunt eventually) will respect them—I promise.

  • No overwhelm allowed.

    If it’s overwhelming, it’s not working. I strive to keep my life and biz as streamlined as possible, cutting out the noise and focusing on what really matters. (And as a chronic throw-awayer, I’ll declutter the unnecessary without a second thought—because nope, you definitely don’t need to be on every social platform ever created!)

  • Netflix as Background Music?

    Working, cleaning, working out—I can’t do any of it without some background noise. Silence? Can't do it. It’s gotta be Lorelai and Rory bantering away on Gilmore Girls or a random YouTube video of coffee shop sounds (someone recorded 8 hours of café chatter, and yes, I’ve listened to it all). Because, let’s be honest, productivity needs a good soundtrack.

  • Current Obsession:

    Gold jewelry! (You know how Latinas joke about being born with gold jewelry on? Yep, that’s me.) I’ve been collecting since I was fresh out the oven and can’t stop layering different pieces. Spoiler: I’m never without at least six items on at all times.

  • Favorite hobby:

    Doing my own nails. I’ve been perfecting my DIY manicure since I was ten—thanks to my mom’s very conservative choice of sheer pink polish. These days, I’m obsessed with a good red nail and never miss a nail day.

  • Drink of choice:

    Coffee. All day, every day. I plan entire trips around visiting new coffee shops. And yes, I go to bed excited to wake up just for that first cup. (The simple things, right?)

  • Favorite season:

    Fall through and through. If it involves a Gilmore Girls, a cozy sweater, and leaves crunching underfoot, I’m there for it.

  • Toxic trait:

    Loving lip balm way too much. I probably own over 20, and I’ll buy more. Got a new flavor? Take my money.

  • Personality trait:

    Obsessively Organized (and Probably Undiagnosed OCD). I’m the type who’ll color-code the spice rack and my closet—because how else will I know where everything is? Haven’t gotten officially diagnosed yet, though… mostly because I’m afraid they’ll tell me I need to relax, and, honestly, where’s the fun in that?

  • My happy place:

    Curled up in bed with a good book or show (bonus points for PJs and snacks), or 35,000 feet in the air, off to explore a new city. No in-between—just peak cozy or adventure mode.

WHERE I’M OFF TO NOW…

I’ve gone through so many stages of entrepreneurship (hello, three businesses and multiple pivots!), but I think the current season of life and business I’m in is my favorite by far.
